The Thinking Through Places in Archives (TTP-A) project is a proposal for Horizon Europe for September 2026. The project will explore how Human Artistic Intelligence (HAI) connected to Artificial Intelligence (AI) can innovate work practice in the Cultural and Creative Sectors and Industries (CCSI), specifically in Archives.
Building on the cultural significance of place, TTP investigates how AI can help safeguard Europe’s heritage, empower local communities, and ensure inclusive access.
TTP drives innovation by transforming cultural insights into new digital competences and policy inputs, connecting Europe’s heritage with forward-looking AI to bridge past and future. By integrating measures that support mental health and vulnerable groups, TTP aims to strengthen capacities, resilience, and inclusivity.
Why Artificial Intelligence and Places?
Places are culturally significant in how people relate to each other and the world. Our cultural heritage is inseparably connected to places and thus central in archival work practice. Using AI and source-critical approaches, the TTP project aims to help lead the development of innovating archives’ work practice. TTP embraces user-centric enablement to contribute to AI strategies, policies and skills.
